Oh, I don’t blame you at all, you were quite patient and set only the mildest of tests. It is good to know what you are and are not willing to put up with.

I am investing a lot more in sorting out my own emotions right now, but that is because I am in a real relationship that is hitting some important definitional stages, and I’m confident it is worth making work and last.

Indeed they are. I pretty deliberately take to neutrality when I haven’t gotten to know someone’s particular quirks.

Unfortunately, his particular quirks are not something I’m willing to put up with for very long. I can’t really have civil conversation with someone who’s telling me what I think and what my intentions are. He pretended to know these things, and… if they were true, he doesn’t seem to be rational enough to let me go. Being that they were not… I’m pretty put off by being accused.

In retrospect, I’m surprised there wasn’t a lot more “YOU DON’T KNOW ME!” thrown about. Not that it being the case wasn’t glaringly obvious.

Emotions are a hard thing to learn to manage. Hopefully he did some learning, although it’s not clear he saw an opportunity.

Sometimes, answering “you’re an actor?” feels like I’m answering “are you Chinese or Japanese?”

I know it’s not worth the time in the latter, but there isn’t always that smattering of ignorance all over the place with the former. It certainly is a topic I’m happier to discuss.

Which is my trolly weakpoint, apparently!
